The first week for the Montauk SurfMasters’s Fall Classic has passed and we have some fish on the board. The fishing picked up just in time for the tournament kickoff as a quick shot of teen bass up to 20lb class were had on the northside earlier in the week. There was tons of baby weakfish and snappers along the Northside which kept expectations high but the fishing slowed as the weekend approached with the start of The Fisherman Magazine’s Montauk Fall Classic.

The Fisherman’s Montauk Fall Classic 2013 Final Results
JB’s fish also was entered into The Fisherman’s tournament and held on to first place with Gary Krist taking 2nd in the Striped Bass division. It was a tough weekend in the surf with only a few fish caught for several hundred anglers entered into the competition. Here was the final leaderboard for the weekend which did not meet up to the expectations. Jeff Krist from MTK SurfMasters also took 1st place in the bluefish division.
